OUR MISSION

Our mission is to come alongside of men who are seeking freedom from addiction by pointing them to Christ, providing a safe place to flourish, and personalized programs that transform them physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.

Our why

THE PROBLEM:
It is improbable that someone can recover and break free from addiction without access to transitional housing. When recovery patients have not been given enough time to recover, assimilate, and learn how to apply the principles of sober living, the chances of relapse increase to more than 80% (Burning Tree Programs).

THE SOLUTION:  The men we serve at Souls Harbor come to the program not only suffering the effects of addiction in their lives but also suffering the devastation of homelessness as an outcome of their addiction. Souls Harbor provides its men with safe, secure and stable housing and an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) while they work through our year-long program to heal and rebuild their lives.

THE RESULT: After completing the comprehensive Souls Harbor program the men are well-equipped to reenter the local community as responsible citizens and faithful disciples of Christ, free from the cycle of addiction.

OUR process

Rescue

We are a safe place for all, but protect our community by only accepting applicants that have been sober for at least 30 days and have completed a drug/alcohol treatment program. From there, we'll complete a background check, in-person interview, and drug/alcohol screening.

Restore

Once accepted to Souls Harbor, residents will obtain gainful employment or attend school full-time. We'll also enroll our residents in life-skills classes, case management, professional counseling, Bible studies, and weekly programs designed to encourage and equip.

Rebuild

In addition to our programs and living a substance-free lifestyle, Souls Harbor residents are asked to put in 4 hours of "sweat equity" weekly, attend recovery meetings, abide by a curfew, pay a shared cost of $50/week for housing, and obtain a sponsor/mentor.

Lives Changed

"I've been aware of Souls Harbor for almost thirty years, even volunteering there as a teenager. It seemed appropriate that as an adult, I ended up needing it. When I moved in I was just barely beginning to care about myself again, and Souls Harbor helped me find the tools to care about myself fully, and more importantly that other people cared as well. I have now been sober for over 15 months, and I attribute it to Souls Harbor giving me the opportunity to find peace within myself rather than looking for it in others."
